I'm 44 and I live in Canada. I only recently learned of this story. For some reason I find myself looking up every video and every bit of information I can find on her. I can't get over how sad this story is. Sad doesn't do it justice. It's utterly tragic. I work in law enforcement and my work brain tells me "at least they caught the shooter and she's been sitting in prison for almost 30 years" but my human side tells me that no matter what justice is handed out it can never make things right. Selena missed out on so much of life that the grief is overwhelming. She never had kids, never got to watch them grow. Who know how much more music and concerts we would have got to enjoy? The world was truly robbed of a beautiful soul, who was born to entertain and clearly had a love for what she did. I find it cathartic to see that so many people are still touched and moved by Selena's story and legacy. Glad to know I'm not alone. Grief is a terrible thing, maybe the worst emotion to feel, but lots of good can come from it. I make it a point to listen to some of her music regularly, even tho I don't speak spanish I still enjoy listening to her voice. We really do need to embrace those we love and live as best we can because it can all be gone in a second. Take care of each other out there.
